I was glad to receive the bundle of joy last year. Earlier while she was in my womb, I had the feeling it was a girl child and I selected the name "Mahima" (meaning "grace"). My husband agreed for this name and he felt it would be a boy child and chose some boy names. Later when she was born, he said Mahima is not SEO compatible and searched for a unique name. We chose the name "Harshada"(meaning "giver of joy") One of the male names he chose was Harshad). Again there were too many google results. He wanted a unique name just like his and continued the search. He got 75 namavallis and finally felt Oorjasvita (meaning "One who has the primordial energy") had 0 search results. Even with other spellings, it had the least hit. So this name was chosen to be the official name. As per his customs, 3 names has to be given during Namakaranam (naming ceremony). During a lunch discussion, some of my colleagues brought in the point of “In true sense there is no free will”. It started with finding a brinjal in my plate -> to justifying animal testing -> to free will.. sorry, to “no free will”. Don’t ask me the logic of the conversation. That is, there is nothing more to a human than a hardware and a software. You are existing only due to the cause and effect principle and hence you are in constant bondage of the infinite factors that rule you. You - meaning the machine alias human. A real woman always keeps her house clean and organized. The laundry basket is always empty. She's always well dressed, hair done. I spent around a week volunteering for a program and I felt completely rejuvenated though I slept only 3 hours a day and spent rest of the time in physical work. During that, we took a little time off and went for a trek into the forest to a waterfall. On the way, we cleaned the place removing plastic items and see how much we collected. Mostly there were bottles, pens, bags spread all over the place. At first I saw people being hesitant to do this as it was dirty all around. Some just went about doing it. I then noticed in the middle of my work, slowly everyone was doing their bit. I smiled and realized, it is human to open up and do what is needed when a fellow human does it right in front of you. In the first place, why should someone litter and then someone else has to clean it? Can’t we do our bit to maintain a clean place? I am not complaining of me doing it. I rushed to enter Harry Potter – The Deathly Hallows (part 1) movie at 7pm to ensure I didn’t miss even the titles, but was tortured with 20 mins of Hindi advertisements. Well I was not in Delhi or in a Hindi movie. Why the hell am I shown ads in Hindi where the majority of the population DOES NOT UNDERSTAND HINDI. I am at Chennai PVR Cinemas to watch an English movie. Obviously, majority of the audience understood English. So why not have the dialogues for the ads in English? If you wanted to localize, then why not localize it in the state’s language which is TAMIL? I used to wonder this even in Bangalore. Why not Kannada, why Hindi? I can perfectly understand if it was a Hindi movie. But why for an English or worse a Tamil movie? Or else, why don't you just put music or mimes instead of having an unknown language? After a long time, I caught up with my friend and was enquiring about other friends. I was shocked to know when she mentioned xxxxx was planning for a second child. I asked twice to confirm I heard it right. Well, I wanted to leash out my whole flood of thoughts, at that very moment. But guess what, I had been always unpopular among my friends for being very blunt and lost many "friends". Over the years I had learnt not to speak my thoughts where it probably isn't welcome.
